The Treasury Secretariat hereby issues the Fiscal Bulletin for the first semester of fiscal 2001, which contains periodic and systematic economic and financial data.

This Fiscal Bulletin consists of seven chapters. Chapters I - III deal with the execution of the Federal Administration Budget and the cash budget of the Federal Public Sector. Budget data on financial sources and allocations have also been included.

For a better understanding of the information presented in this report, Chapter I provides a description of the main features of the methodology used to produce the figures given herein.

Chapter IV deals with the transfers to the Provinces up to 30 June 2001, from the revenue sharing system and other legal systems for transferring resources to the Provinces, and non-automatic transfers.

Chapter V deals with Occupation and Wages, and contains data on occupation and wage brackets of the Executive Branch.

Chapter VI contains comparative data on the solvent debt.

Chapter VII refers to the Public Debt and Public Financial Assets at 30 June 2001, including the debt in bonds and securities issued both in pesos and in dollars, and the bilateral and multilateral debt. It also includes the stock of short-term debt and financial assets related to public debt operations.

The Public Revenue Secretariat and the Finance Secretariat provided data in Chapters II and VII, respectively.

Continuing with its purpose of increasing fiscal transparency, the Treasury Secretariat has added a new page: http://mecon.gov.ar/index0a.html, containing data, both general and detailed, on the federal budget execution, by jurisdiction and entity, updated on a weekly basis (amounts of current appropriations, incurred, accrued and outlaid).

Additionally, as of September 1999, the budget execution of the Argentine Non-Financial Public Sector is published on an annual basis.
