The Treasury Secretariat hereby issues the Fiscal Bulletin for the first quarter 2001, which contains economic and financial data of periodic and systematic nature.

This Fiscal Bulletin consists of seven chapters. Chapters I - III deal with the execution of the Federal Administration Budget and the cash budget of the Federal Public Sector, including budget data on financial sources and allocations.

For a better understanding of the information presented in this report, the main features of the methodology used to produce the figures given herein are provided in Chapter I.

Chapter IV deals with the transfers to the provinces up to 31 March 2001, which come from either the revenue sharing system or other legal systems for transferring resources to the Provinces, and non-automatic transfers.

Chapter V deals with Occupation and Wages, and contains data on occupation and wage brackets of the Executive Branch.

Chapter VI contains comparative data of the solvent debt.

Chapter VII deals with the Public Debt and Financial Assets at 31 March 2001, including the debt in bonds and securities issued both in pesos and in dollars, and the bilateral and multilateral debt. It also includes the stock of short-term debt and financial assets related to public debt transactions.

As of this number, analytical charts shall be part of the Statistics Annex.

The information in Chapters II and VII was provided by the Secretariat of Public Revenue and the Secretariat of Finance, respebtively.

Continuing with the purpose of increasing fiscal transparency, the Treasury Secretariat has added a new page: http://www.mecon.gov.ar/consulta/index0a.html, which contains global data on the federal budget execution, by jurisdiction and entity, updated on a weekly basis (amounts of current appropriations, committed, accrued and outlaid).

Additionally, as of September 1999, the budget execution of the Non Financial Public Sector is published on an annual basis.
