Laura Jaitman participates in the panel “Argentina in the New Global Economy” at the University of Buenos Aires
Within the framework of Argentina’s G20 Presidency, a debate on the country’s role in the new economic situation took place yesterday at the School of Economic Studies of the University of Buenos Aires.
The Ministry of Treasury organized, together with the School of Economic Studies of the University of Buenos Aires and the Interdisciplinary Institute of Economic Policy of Buenos Aires, the panel “Argentina in the New Global Economy”. The event, held on August 1, was attended by 200 students.
The members of the panel were: Laura Jaitman (G20 Finance Deputy – Ministry of Treasury), Martin Rapetti (Director of Economic Development – CIPPEC) and Daniel Heymann (Director of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Economic Policy of Buenos Aires IIEP-UBA-CONICET). The moderator was Andrés López (Director of the Economic Department-FCE-UBA). The three members of the panel talked about the new global economic situation and the implications for Argentina.
Laura Jaitman highlighted the role of the G20 and the achievements made within the context of the international financial crisis, the agenda of Argentina’s G20 Presidency and the outcomes achieved at the last meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held in July in Buenos Aires.
